My husband and I have Macular Degeneration in both eyes and attend New Medica in Middlesbrough for regular eye injections. New Medica recommended Mr Mellis and we have been delighted with his help and understanding of our medical problems. I had previously attended a high street opticians who not only did not inform me of having cataracts in both eyes and also not my macular problems even after paying for the extra tests. Mr Mellis and his lovely staff are a pleasure to visit and you are treated with curtesy and respect. Certainly not as a number with an unlimited bank account. My husband and I cannot praise this firm enough and are glad that we are in safe hand.

Iain always goes above and beyond to ensure my family has a thorough assessment and always explains his findings.  The front of house staff are always welcoming and polite, from Wendy who was AMAZING reassuring and encouraging my son whilst he was practising with contact lenses to Jade who is so helpful when ringing for appointments and Annette who has the patience of a saint helping pick out new frames!

I’ve brought all three of my children to Mellis Eyecare for their eye tests, and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the service. My youngest son is autistic, so appointments can sometimes feel a bit overwhelming for him,  but the team here were absolutely amazing. Patient, gentle, and really understanding. They took their time, made him feel comfortable, and nothing ever felt rushed. As a mam, that means everything. My other son and daughter were also looked after brilliantly. You can tell they really care about the families who walk through their doors. I’m genuinely so impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mellis Eyecare to anyone. Very helpful with selection of suitable frames and lenses for me as a motorcyclist and providing great advice. Got some very nice durable BFLEX frames with clip on sunglasses.
